Like most heritage homes this home was set on a lovely large block, however, the interior of the home was quite small and dark.   Our clients engaged our team to extend their home for their growing family and to create a new entrance, a sunroom and a large open plan and a light filled family room.  An outdoor living space that worked harmoniously with the home was also required for outdoor entertaining and to complete their stunning backyard and established gardens.  The clients wanted the extension to be in keeping with their heritage home so that the new extension blended seamlessly with the existing home.  A major concern for the clients was that their meticulous gardens were taken care of during the construction phase.

Renovation Summary:

The works involved in this extension and remodelling project included creating a new entrance, large living room with brush box hardwood flooring, a sunroom, a large alfresco deck and a small side deck. Extensive joinery was included throughout the home and a new kitchen bench top was installed. All the new windows and doors were constructed from hardwood with double glazing and the sills were finished with a corbel detail to match the existing window sills. A 5000 litre bladder tank and pump was installed under the deck to provide irrigation for the upkeep of their gardens and plants. Another space has also been allowed for another bladder tank to be added at a later date. Insulation was also upgraded to achieve a five star energy rating.

Outcomes:

Overall, a seamless result was achieved.  The extension and remodelling work effortlessly united the elegance of the original home with the fresh light filled living areas.   A classic and timeless family home with beautiful outdoor entertaining areas for the family to enjoy was created.  Our team was also extremely proud of the care and specific maintenance of the immaculate gardens that was undertaken during construction which added to the overall quality of the completed project.
