Getting to Know You
We start by understanding your vision. After an initial call to discuss your home, budget, and goals, we’ll schedule a visit from our design consultant. They will listen to your ideas, provide valuable insights, and help you put into words what you are looking to achieve and what problems you want to solve and how to add value to your home and lifestyle. In our first visit, we give you a sense for design and construction costs and feasible timeframes based on our 20+ years of building experience.
Design Planning
If you decide to move forward, we’ll begin the design process to bring your vision to life. We specialise in creating meaningful, functional spaces with an aesthetic that reflects your desired style. We never design the same thing twice – every time it’s custom design. Our in-house architectural team collaborate with you to create a design that is right for you and within the budget discussed. We start by creating initial sketches and developing a specified proposal plan. After incorporating your feedback, we produce detailed working drawings in preparation for contract. This journey takes you from broad concepts to a refined, functional design tailored to your exact needs and budget.
Approvals & Pre-Construction
At this point, collaboratively we have created the ideal design, budget and timeline for your project, and this is packaged into a comprehensive construction contract. While we initiate the approval process, you’ll meet with our interior designer to confidently select products, finishes and colours for your transformed home.
Once we secure necessary permits, we’ll schedule a pre-construction meeting to finalise details. This includes reviewing the project timeline, addressing any specific requests, and introducing you to your dedicated site manager. Together, we’ll create a clear project management plan to ensure a smooth construction process.
Construction
Let construction begin! Your site manager will manage all the stages of your project and will meet regularly with you to answer any questions you have and provide updates on the progress of the project. Throughout the build process, the Build Professional team will support your site manager to ensure your project is completed to our quality standard, on-time, to budget, and with our professional relationship in-tact.
Post Construction
Your beautiful home renovation or extension is complete! After construction is completed, we’ll walk through your project together and conduct a handover – providing you with instructions on how to work any new appliance or system we’ve installed. Any questions or concerns you have will be addressed expeditiously.
During our client handover, we celebrate your beautiful home and collect feedback from you on how we met your overall needs. This feedback is critical for us to maintain our reputation as Canberra’s Design and Build Extension Specialist. Once you are a Build Professional client, you are a client for life, and we are only ever a phone call away if you need us.
